This wool Indigenous blanket is the result of a meaningful collaboration between MINI TIPI and Métis artist Christi Belcourt, whose iconic painting JOY comes to life in woven form.

Crafted from 100% natural fibers, the JOY Blanket embodies softness, warmth, and timeless elegance. Each thread honours the connection between art, nature, and community, reflecting Belcourt’s signature celebration of floral patterns and Indigenous teachings.

Joy is inspired by Métis floral embroidery, drawing on the land as a constant source of life. Christi Belcourt blends traditional motifs with realistic plants, including the hummingbird, a symbol of joy, and five-petaled berry flowers that represent abundance. 

There’s also roots, like in many of her designs, as a way to say that there is so much more to life that we see.

Through Joy, Christi shares her gratitude for the plant world and reminds us to celebrate life, even in difficult times.
