DRØM Pepper is grown in rural parts of Kampot and Kep provinces, in Southern Cambodia near the border with Vietnam.
Kampot Pepper farming is tightly monitored because of its Protected Geographical Indication (like Champagne, Parma Ham, Roquefort). The peppercorns are grown according to strict standards that control crop planting and maintenance, pest control, harvest and storage. For example, the Geographical Indication’s book of specifications forbids the use of chemical fertilizers. Spacing the vines, as well as sheltering young vines, is also controlled. With these rigorous standards, it is not hard to understand why the Kampot Pepper is considered to be one of the world's best peppercorns.
DRØM Pepper is grown by a team of about 115 farmers and farmhands from a nearby community. Their work on the farm helps the local team members improve their living conditions and prevents them from migrating to the city or Thailand in search of work.
